Today I decided to edit videos, it’s October now and I have videos from April I’ve yet to go through, I get very overwhelmed at the aspect of editing and I just end up not doing it.

I love filming, capturing moments that I feel like I’ll forget otherwise. My videos have a lot of random moments but it’s what I love most about my life. Today while editing I realized it was the last video I had of my childhood dog, I filmed her 17th birthday and realized a week later is when she passed away. It hit hard, I sobbed the entire time while editing it and I was so sad to watch it but I was also so thankful to have it.

In finishing that video I finally found my “why” for filming and creating in general. To make life memorable and to be able to remember it. When I’m old I want to remember what I did in my 20s, or if something awful happens to me I want those around me to see me happy and remember who I was and how much I loved life and them.

In my starting of all my digital content creation it was a way to make money, but now after years of failing and trying again and again and nothing changing. I realized this time around that I didn’t want to do it for the money, I just wanted to because it was fun.

The past two days I had been in a slump because I was being pulled back into the “SEO, schedule, make as much content as possible” and I couldn’t of asked for a better time to be reminded why I actually do it and want to do it.

I love creating because it makes me happy and feel fulfilled, I love filming because helps me remember the importance of life and I love living because I get to do these things and I have a job now that pays me enough I don’t have to make content to live.

This is my “Why”
